Heather Maxwell, wife of the famed Tuna Fever skipper, has earned a little fame of her own over the years. “The first article I published was about the giant bluefin tuna bite in Hatteras” says Maxwell. That was in The Big Game Journal circa 1994 and since that time Maxwell has written for national, local and internet publications. What started as a monthly fishing report from Oregon Inlet transformed into a writing style that is funny and informative and would probably make Thoreau ill. “I write for fishermen and they seem to enjoy it” she adds. Maxwell continues to write the occasional feature upon request.

The idea for FishOregonInlet.com first came about nearly seven years ago when the domain name was purchased. Over the years the concept for the site has changed and was never put into effect until now. Primarily this site is about fun and information. Some of the articles will be sorely out of date but fishing never changes too much and when it does – the cycle of the ocean always makes the tips relevant again.

This site is also about the Tuna Fever, for without direct access to her tuna crazed husband, Maxwell would not know nearly as much about tuna, at least.

Enjoy! Have fun! And if you must fish visit TunaFever.com to book your next day out on the rip!
